GREAT IMAGES BY AS-YET UNAPPRECIATED & UNDERVALUED ARTISTS

 

 

Some books have appeared in recent years which deal with the ways in which photography has been used in relation to crime.  The images which are reproduce in these books were usually taken either by police photographers or newspaper photographers.   They were meant to serve very specific functions, but are now most interesting to look at removed as they are from their original context.

"A collection of 55 evidence photographs taken by the New York City Police Department between 1914 and 1918." There are lots of bodies and some very gruesome images.
