President Dwight D. Eisenhower 
by Nickolas Muray.  8 x 10 inch silver print with some surface marks.  The image is signed in the negative.  Eisenhower was the general who led us to victory in Europe during World War II.  He was President of the United States from 1953-1960. (ES)

 3 1/4  x 4  1/2 inch gravure on a larger page.  There is a facsimile signature below the portrait.  Hanna was an industrialist and Republican politician from Ohio.  He was McKinley's campaign manager in 1896.  Hanna was also a very powerful member of the U. S. Senate.

John Milton Hay (1838-1905).  Vintage Pach Brothers  Photograph (attrib.)  4 x 5 1/2  inch albumen print.  Great tones, but some creases and tears in the emulsion.   Hay was a secretary to President Abraham Lincoln and was present when Lincoln died.  He also wrote a 10 volume biography of Lincoln.  Hay was the US Ambassador to Great Britain in 1897.  He was also the Secretary Of State from 1898-1905.

John Brooks Henderson (1826-1913). Politician. 
United States Senator From Missouri.  Henderson co-authored the 13th Amendment to the Constitution which permanently prohibited slavery in the United States.  Henderson also opposed the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson.

David B. Hill (1843-1910), New York  Governor  Large Albumen print, 12 x 16 inches.    Hill was the Lieutenant Governor of New York and became the Governor when Grover Cleveland resigned in 1885.  He was then elected to two full terms in Nov. 1885 and Nov. 1892.  He was the US Senator for NY from 1892-1897.  He was also a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 1892.

(1911-1978) 7  x 8 1/2  inch  silver print by Harris & Ewing.  The image is signed in the negative.  Humphrey was the 38th Vice President of the United States under President Lyndon Johnson.  He twice served as a U. S. Senator from Minnesota.  Humphrey also ran for President in 1968, but lost to Richard M. Nixon.

Senator from New York from 1909-1915.  Root ran for his party's presidential nomination in 1916 but did not win.

Carl Schurz. (1829-1906). German Revolutionary, Politician, Union Soldier, Lawyer, Diplomat, and Statesman. Schurz was influential in the Republican Party.  He was a writer and orator against slavery.  He was a Major General in the Union Army and Secretary of the Interior from 1877 to 1881.
